Hi there…

Implemented your BestSeller code, but for some reason it just gets ignored. No errors, just doesn’t show up.

I’ve got 3 blocks on my front page, but this one just seems to get ignored….. can u assist?

Hi,

Tried to build the bestseller module in Magento 1.4.0.1, but I don’t get any products listed (there’s some test orders, so there should be data to display bestsellers). Is there something else I need to set up (DB).

Hi Fido,
thanks for your effort, good to see there are people around sharing Magento knowledge.

I re-formatted the code (mostly comments, which made my IDE crazy) and pasted it here – hope it’ll save someone’s time. Tip – use ‘Follow up/No format’ link on the page top to get the code.

Keep in mind, the page on paste2 will vanish after some time of inactivity

Hi, I had to rename Bestseller.php to bestseller.php otherwise I got an 404 error (Linux server specifity I guess).
Still don’t get any items to show though.

I can’t seem to get anything to display

I copied all the code to the correct file, refreshed cache, placed in block declaration and I get nothing on my home page

I used your copy to clipboard for the Bestseller.php script. Has that been known to have issues?

You need to create the missing directories within the “local” directory – They do not yet exist in most cases.

Hi.
I did try to follow your how to, but i’m having some problem. The first one is i havn’t got the dir/path : app/code/local/Mage/Catalog/Block/Product/Bestseller.php

mine only goes to app/code/local/Mage.

Why is that?.
